Chocolate brownie flavour missing from Quality Street tins and fans aren’t happy
Quality Street fans were left disappointed when they noticed one of the chocolate flavours were missing.
The new Chocolate Caramel Brownie flavour was absent from the tub and customers weren't happy about it.
But according to the creators, the coronavirus pandemic was to blame for the missing flavour.
The makers apologised and promised the production of the Christmas household staple is back to normal.
It explained after some customers were eager to try the new treat were surprised to not find any in their tubs.
Nestle told customers the changes to its production line in lockdown meant the boxes were short of the full range.
However, the confectioner said it had been making all 12 flavours again – including the Chocolate Caramel Brownie – for "some time".
Nestle also claimed each tub is being sold at the full normal weight after the missing flavour had to be replaced.
Chocolate fans went to Twitter to express their disappointment at not finding the new flavour.
One said: "As I'm tweeting about all of the important stuff today…"

She added: "I opened a box of Quality Street and was excited to see a new sweet – but disappointed not to find any in the box!
"Is the brownie available in Ireland, or is this the beginning of Brexit?"
Another commented: "Bought a box of Quality Street because why not.
"But mostly, I wanted to try the new #chocolatecaramelbrownie one… Open the box only to find out there weren't any in it."
Responding to complaints from fans, a Nestle spokesperson said: "In order to keep Quality Street production going during the Covid-19 lockdown period, we made some temporary changes to the way we operated, such as running fewer lines for a time.
"As a result, some packs did not have all 12 varieties of Quality Street sweets in their mix.
"There is no change to the overall weight of our tubs, tins and cartons and any missing varieties have been replaced by another of our well-loved Quality Street selection.
"We apologise for any disappointment caused but hope consumers understand why it was necessary to make these changes during such unprecedented conditions. We hope you'll get some in your next pack."
