Argos opening hours: Is Argos open during lockdown?
Argos Chief executive Mike Coupe revealed a raft of closures in MAarch but reminded shoppers the Argos website is open as usual and still offering delivery. We would strongly encourage you to order items for home delivery, and to only collect whilst doing your essential food shopping at Sainsbury’s,” he said. But which shops are still open? Express.co.uk brings you the answers to all your questions.
Is Argos open during lockdown?
Following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement that all non-essential services would close, Argos announced it would shut all its 700 shops.
However, not every store has closed. Some stores will remain open – although not for refunds.
Argos said: “You can continue to shop online, selecting our home delivery options.
“Our Argos stores and collection points within Sainsbury’s are still open, and available for collection of pre-paid online orders, if and when you need to pick up essential supplies.”
But Argos says it “strongly advised” customers to order items online for home delivery.
Argos has also extended its returns policy, so all purchases made from March 1 can be returned up to 30 days after its stores reopen.

Which Argos stores are open?
A statement reads: “All Argos standalone stores are temporarily closed.
“Our stores within Sainsbury’s are still open for collection of pre-paid, online orders only. These can be found in our store locator.
“Please note, these stores are unable to accept returns at this time and our opening hours have changed, so check before travelling.
“We are also limiting the number of customers in our stores, so you may need to queue before entering Sainsbury’s to collect your Argos order.
“Alternatively, choose our home delivery options and we’ll bring your order to you.”
It is unclear how long stores will be closed at the moment, the firm says.
The UK is in it’s fifth week of lockdown – which has now been extended until May 7 at the earliest.
This could be extended again, or we could see a small lifting of some restrictions.
However, it is not clear if Argos shops will be included in any temporary or initial lifting of the lockdown.
You can still order online, however.

Argos said: “Continue to shop online as normal and follow the delivery instructions.
“Choose our home delivery option or collection at an Argos store within Sainsbury’s.”
If you choose to shop at a Sainsbury’s store, you cannot reserve an item online.
Instead, Argos advises shoppers must place and pay for their order online. The firm adds it has closed all in-store pay points.
If you choose to use the home delivery service, you may have a short wait.
Argos says: “We’re currently experiencing high demand across a number of categories.
“As a result, we have fewer delivery slots available. We’re working hard across all sites to help customers get what they need at this time.”
You also might find that some items are unavailable at this time.
Argos said the firm has “temporarily reduced the items we are offering with home delivery”.
Certain items will still be available for doorstep delivery, and will be left in a safe and sensible location.
To check the product you want is available, just add your location into the check stock box, on the product details page.
