All my wife and I seem to do is argue about money – it's tearing us apart

DEAR DEIDRE: OUR son was born with special needs and my wife is his full-time carer, getting benefits. Now all we do is argue over money.

Her friend runs a hairdressing salon and before lockdown my wife spent frightening sums there.

She finds time for online bingo but didn’t even buy me a birthday card this year and got her mum to get me a small gift instead.

If I ever want to have a kiss and cuddle, she tells me how much it will cost me.

We are both 36 and our relationship is falling apart.

DEIDRE SAYS: Money might not be the only issue here. Being a full-time carer to your son will be exhausting for her.

Your wife sounds angry and resentful and she may even be depressed.

Do you often help out with your son?
