  • OUT FOR THE COUT

Manchester United are among a number of Premier League teams considering a move for Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

The £142million flop was farmed out to Bayern Munich on loan this season after failing to make an impact during his 18 month stint at the Camp Nou.

According to Sport, Manchester United are “not against” signing Coutinho – however the acquisition of instant-hit Bruno Fernandes would complicate matters.

Leicester City have also entered the mix, with boss Brendan Rodgers having worked with the Brazilian at Liverpool.

But given the finances involved, the Foxes would have to take Coutinho on loan, rather than permanently.

Earlier this month it was reported that Chelsea had held preliminary talks with Barcelona over Coutinho, with Frank Lampard believed to be a fan.

  • LOR AND ORDER

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made contact with the agent of Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The 26-year-old only joined the Serie A side from Empoli in a £7million deal last year, but he could already be on the move again following a superb season.

According to Calcio Napoli 24, United have been in contact with the representative of Di Lorenzo with the club impressed by his versatility.

The fact that the defender can player as a centre-back as well as a left-back makes the player an attractive option.

As of yet, no official approach has been made by United, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s club are keen to explore whether he could be tempted in a move to the Premier League.

  • RON BILLION DOLLARS

Cristiano Ronaldo is still on course to become only the third active sportsman to earn $1BILLION this season – despite taking a pay cut due to the coronavirus crisis.

The Juventus star, 35, took a £3.5million hit on his wages this week as the killer bug wreaks havoc on clubs’ finances.

But thanks to his sky-high pay-packet and endorsement deals, Ronaldo is still expected to join Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather Jr in breaching the milestone figure in 2019-20.

Ronaldo raked in £88m in 2019 thanks to his Juventus wages and sponsorship deals, including his massive deal with Nike and his own CR7 brand of underwear.

  • JUR JOKING

Premier League bosses had drawn up secret plans to crown Liverpool champions before the coronavirus lockdown, reports have claimed.

The Mirror say that Jurgen Klopp could have been hoisting the top-flight trophy for the first time in 30 years after beating Crystal Palace.

Top level talks reportedly took place about bringing the presentation forward with what, at the time, was just the looming threat of coronavirus.

Liverpool were just two wins away from winning their first title in 30 years and the plan was to crown them champions at Anfield on Saturday, March 21.

The report adds that nothing had been formally agreed but the plan was for Liverpool fans to celebrate their crowning glory at home before football was called off.

  • LOST INTER-EST

Ex-Arsenal man Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to return to Manchester United and not sign permanently for Inter Milan.

A temporary stint in Serie A has not helped the Chilean re-find his form and he may have already played his last game for Antonio Conte’s club.

United allowed Sanchez to leave on loan last summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sought to renew his out-of-sorts squad.

But the Daily Telegraph states that he will be coming back to Old Trafford at the end of the season with Inter not planning on signing the winger permanently.
