Why RHOC Alum Kara Keough’s Pregnancy Announcement Is So Bittersweet

One year after Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kara Keough, the daughter of cast member Jeana Keough, lost her sweet baby boy at birth, she has shared beautiful news (via USA Today). The reality star and her husband, former NFL player Kyle Bosworth, are expecting another child (via The Knot).

Keough has chronicled her grief on Instagram, recently posting a photo of her little one on what would have been his 11 month birthday. The heartbreaking posts about her son, McCoy Casey Bosworth, are equal parts devastating, and uplifting, as she always tries to find hope and peace as she struggles to deal with her newborn’s passing.

But now, Keough has a reason to celebrate. She posted her happy announcement on Instagram on Easter, revealing her pregnancy via a sweet photo of an Easter basket, along with a onesie featuring a rainbow to symbolize her rainbow pregnancy — a rainbow baby is a baby born after loss. Her caption for the sweet post was again, uplifting, and heart-wrenching.

Kara Keough shares the significance of her pregnancy news timing

“Last Easter was the worst night of my life. We held our firstborn son in our arms as he took his final breaths. We spent time in the hell that is watching your child die,” Keough wrote in her honest, at times hard-to-read post. Last year, Keough had shared McCoy died after suffering a “compressed umbilical cord” and “shoulder dystocia” at birth.

Then, the reality star updated her nearly 200,000 followers with the wonderful news that she and Bosworth are having another baby, writing, “This Easter is decidedly better. Despite that wretched Easter night, I can’t ignore that this day also represents rebirth. Renewed hope.” She continued with a sweet message to McCoy, writing, “We miss you, Mack-a-doodle. Thank you for sending us this sacred gift. You’re a big brother!”

Meanwhile, Keough also lost her father, Matt Keough, this past year according to Page Six. In her pregnancy announcement post, the mom-to-be finished her post by saying, “Tell Grandpa that I said he was right. He’ll know what I mean.”

Fans of the mama quickly flooded her page with congratulations and well wishes, noting the special timing of her news.
