Weezer Share Piano Version Of ‘Hero’
Weezer released a piano version of their single “Hero” on Thursday (July 30) and also announced that more details about their upcoming works are on the way.
“Hitting all the right keys with the piano version of ‘Hero,’ out everywhere today,” the band wrote on Twitter. “More details about Van Weezer and more on the way for you.”
The version sees frontman Rivers Cuomo and other members of the band swapping out electric guitar riffs for a piano and making the song a softer ballad.
The band released the original version of “Hero” on May 6 and said it was a dedication to real-life frontline heroes fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The song is part of their upcoming 14th studio album, Van Weezer.
The album was originally supposed to drop in May. The band was also scheduled to be on their Hella Mega tour this summer with Green Day and Fall Out Boy, but due to COVID-19 postponed the tour to the summer of 2021.
