The truth about Simone Biles’ new boyfriend, Jonathan Owens

After several days of speculation, Simone Biles has revealed that there’s a new man in her life. Biles and her boyfriend, Jonathan Owens, just went Instagram official in two pictures of the pair that Biles posted on the social media platform with the caption “It’s just us.”

As noted by The Shade Room on Instagram, Biles had previously wished him a happy birthday and posted a picture of Owens giving her a piggyback ride on her Instagram Story. She has also posted videos of him on her Story as well as on TikTok, leading to rumors that the two were romantically linked.

Biles’ announcement comes a few weeks after she confirmed that she had ended her relationship with fellow gymnast Stacey Ervin Jr. in early March. “It’s hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it,” she told Vogue in July. “But it was for the best.”

It looks like things did indeed work out for the best because Biles seems happy with Owens. Who is Biles’ new boyfriend? Like Biles, Owens is also a talented athlete. The 25-year-old is a safety for the Houston Texans. Per his profile on the National Football League website, he attended Missouri Western State University.

According to Elle, Biles and Owens have a lot in common. They are both based in Texas, where Biles is training for the Olympics at the World Champions Center. Both athletes are also dog lovers, and even have Instagram accounts for their beloved pooches. Like Biles, Owens is also close to his family. In a Mother’s Day tribute to his mom on Instagram, Owens wrote “you have been my biggest fan and supporter through it all. I’m so thankful for everything you’ve taught me.” He also revealed on Instagram that he has a tight bond with his sister, who credits with inspiring his football career.

Biles has often spoken of her love for her parents. “They’ve set huge examples of how to treat other people, and they’ve been there to support me since day one,” she said when she was competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2017. “There’s nothing I could say to them to thank them enough.”
