Terry Crews branded 'disrespectful' over Black Lives Matter claims
Terry Crews has faced a wave of backlash after claiming that the Black Lives Matter movement is in danger of becoming ‘Black Lives Better’.
There have been protests across the US and around the world over the last month after George Floyd died during his arrest, when white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes, despite his insistence that he could not breathe.
People took to the streets to demand justice and equality, with marches taking place in the UK, France, Germany and Japan, as well as a host of other countries.
However, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor has come under fire for discussing the movement on social media, suggesting that it could ‘morph’ into something unintended.
Taking to Twitter, the 51-year-old penned: ‘If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology.
‘We must ensure #blacklivesmatter doesn’t morph into #blacklivesbetter.’
‘I believe this dialogue is important as we get through this trauma together. I love you.’
