Piers Morgan airs concern for Kanye West over 'troubling' appearance at rally

Piers Morgan has described Kanye West’s appearance at his rally in South Carolina as ‘troubling’ and urged his wife Kim Kardashian to ‘save’ him.

Kanye held the rally on Sunday night as part of his bid to run for president in 2020.

He made controversial comments about abolitionist Harriet Tubman, saying she ‘never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people’.

In his latest Mail Online column, the Good Morning Britain presenter called the rally ‘one of the most shocking and disturbing celebrity meltdowns I’ve witnessed’.

Piers went on: ‘It was obvious to anyone with half a brain cell that Kanye’s absurd announcement several weeks ago that he was running for president – one an ecstatic Kim greeted with an emoji of an American flag – was going to blow up like this.’

Adding that he thinks the rapper ‘needs an intervention’ but is ‘getting no help from anyone who claims to love him.

‘They’re all just sitting back and watching him humiliate himself on a massive stage.’

‘He needs his family to step up, stop enabling this c**p and do something,’ the TV presenter continued, urging Kim to ‘save her husband from himself’.

In front of the crowd Kanye broke down in tears as he claimed wife Kim Kardashian wanted to abort their now seven-year-old daughter, North, in 2012.

‘Even if my wife wants to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to. She stood up and she protected that child,’ he told the audience.
