Love Islands Tasha Ghouri reveals she was almost cast in new Barbie movie

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has revealed that she was incredibly close to bagging a role in the cast of the highly-anticipated new live-action Barbie film.

The sure-fire summer hit, which is due for release in cinemas in July, features Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles, and has a gigantic supporting cast to boot.

But dancer Tasha, 24, could have got her big break but it would have meant swapping her sun-soaked days in the villa in Spain for a Hollywood movie set instead.

The star opened up on the incredibly opportunity and how she got to the final round of auditions to be a dancer in Greta Gerwig's film on her Twitter page.

"Fun fact I got to the final round of the Barbie film audition as a dancer but didn't get the job.

"Filming was at same time as LI, crazy how the universe works," she then noted.

If Tasha had won the role over the rest of the cast hopefuls, she would never have met her now-boyfriend Andrew Le Page.

The star also shared a snap of her having fun with a Barbie Selfie Generator, as she imagined what life would have been like had she been cast in the film.

"This Barbie is a model with a superpower," the image read, which referred to the cochlear implant she uses after she was born deaf.

It comes as the entire star-studded cast and first official trailer for the film were released yesterday, as fans are already desperate to see it on July 21.

There will be a variety of the versions of Barbie and Ken, as Ryan Gosling's main rival appears to be Marvel star Simu Liu's version in the movie.

Singer Dua Lipa plays an electric blue haired mermaid Barbie, decked head to toe in matching shiny underwater accessories.

Sex Education star Emma Mackey dons an olive green 50s style dress and a pink hairband to play the Barbie with a "Nobel Prize in Physics".

Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan also turns the style stakes up a notch in a pink and sequinned tulle gown, Ariel-style bright red locks and baby pink lipstick to finish.

The Irish beauty will be playing Barbie as a diplomat in the movie.

Other major Barbies in the movie include Issa Rae as President Barbie, who rocks a curly brunette mane and a pale pink and gold sash for her role, and comic genius Kate McKinnon.

Dame Helen Mirren is also playing the narrator, and Will Ferrell has a major role in the story, with a tagline that simply says "please call me mother".

America Ferrera and Ariana Greenblatt will be playing human characters in the film.
