HRVY says ‘I can’t do it anymore’ as he ‘winces’ in final rehearsals with Janette Manrara

Strictly: Janette Manrara praises HRVY on his scores of ten

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 duo Janette Manrara, 37, and HRVY, 21, will perform three dances alongside their fellow finalists this evening in a bid to win the Glitterball trophy. Speaking ahead of the live show, the singer admitted he had been in “agony” and was struggling with their Showdance.

Speaking to press, including Express.co.uk, about training for the final, he said: “It’s been alright because we have done the Jive and we’ve done the American Smooth [before], so it’s more about going over them again and remembering the steps a little bit and making sure it’s cleaner.

“But, the Showdance is an all new dance basically and it’s a lot.

“We’ve put everything we can into 90 seconds to the point where we get to certain sections and I have to stop. I can’t do it anymore than I am doing.”

HRVY went on to say he had been “in agony” with his body and had been wincing in pain.

“It’s a really weird thing and I’m doing what my dad and grandad do which I really hate, every times I get up and down I [wince],” he added.

“I make noises. I hate that. It’s just because my body and my knees are in agony.”

Last night, Janette admitted she had been “tough” on her dance partner in a bid to get the dances the best they can be.

The dancing duo will compete for the Glitterball trophy against duos; Oti Mabuse and Bill Bailey, Gorka Marquez and Maisie Smith and Karen Hauer and Jamie Laing.

In week six, the pair became the first dancing duo to be awarded the top 30 points for their Couple’s Choice routine.

According to Coral bookmakers, Bill and Oti are the current favourites to win the show at 8-11 odds.

HRVY is the second favourite at 7-4, while Maisie Smith is third at 6-1 and Jamie Laing is at 50-1.

Last week, the Strictly hopeful pleaded with viewers to get Janette to her first final in eight years on the show.

The dancer joined the programme back in 2013 with her husband Aljaž Škorjanec.

This year, the married couple have been kept apart due to coronavirus rules on the show.

During Strictly: It Takes two last night, Janette’s spouse surprised her with a message on the show.

He said: “This message is for you and HRVY.

“All the best in the final tomorrow. I hope you smash it. I know you will.

“I’m so proud of you both. You’ve pushed yourself to the absolute limits.

“And to get to the final my love I know how much you wanted this and you thoroughly deserve it.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6pm on BBC One.
