Dan Walker speaks out on ‘bruised and battered’ BBC co-star Carol Kirkwood after accident

BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker gave fans an update on his co-star Carol Kirkwood this morning following her bike accident news.

The 42-year-old presenter told his social media followers there was a “lot of love” for the “battered and bruised” weather presenter today.

Dan took to Instagram this morning to share a picture of himself with Carol before lockdown, after she revealed she had been in an accident on Twitter.

The TV star wrote, in view of his 134,000 followers: “There is a lot of love for Carol this morning.”

Providing a bit more information, he went on to say: “She is ok, a little battered and bruised after her bike accident, but it’s wonderful to have her back.”

“Long may she reign #BBCBreakfast,” he signed off.

BBC weather presenter Carol spoke of her accident on social media this morning and ‬thanked the emergency services, who helped her to safety.

Explaining her absence from the breakfast show, she told her 178,800 followers: “Been off following an accident.”

“Got knocked off my bike by a car and got injured,” Carol continued.

The 57-year-old went on to say: “Biggest thanks ever to the Police (Chris and Faye), the Ambulance Crew (Miranda and Stewart) who tended to me and took me to Hospital.

“And especially Peter Foskett-Tharby at Wexham Park Hospital.”

Worried social media followers rushed to the comments section to wish the popular television star a speedy recovery and welcome her back to TV screens.

“Great to see Carol back,” said one user.

“So sorry to hear about her accident,” added another.

A third fan said: “Welcome back Carol. You’ve been missed. Lots love n hugs.”

Meanwhile, Dan shared the same post on Twitter and received a similar outpouring of love for the star.

Happy to see her back at work, one user said: “It hasn’t been the same without our @carolkirkwood. Good to have you back, queen of the weather. Glad you’re OK.”
