Britney Spears insists she's 'happiest she's ever been' in new video
Britney Spears has insisted that she’s ‘the happiest I’ve ever been’ and is doing okay in a new video amid her conservatorship battle.
Dressed in a white off the shoulder top, the pop star reached out to her fans by sharing the update on her Instagram feed.
Speaking to the camera, Britney said: ‘Hi, so I know there have been a lot of comments and a lot of people saying a lot of different things about me, but I just wanted to let you know that I’m fine.
‘I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. And I’m sending all of you guys a lot of prayers, wishes, and a lot of love.’
Britney’s message comes just days after her sister Jamie Lynn Spears said the star is trying to remain positive following a ‘challenging year’.
‘I think that she’s doing just like the rest of us,’ Jamie said. ‘She’s trying to make the best and stay positive during a very challenging time and challenging year, and I think that that’s kind of the theme of everyone right now.’
A conservatorship is when a guardian (conservator) is appointed to oversee the financial affairs and/or daily life of another person, who is considered unable to do so themselves.
Her former estate manager Andrew Wallet told the Daily Mail that the conservatorship is in place ‘for good reason’ and in Britney’s ‘best interests’.
Britney’s dad had been the co-conservator of his daughter for 11 years following her well-publicsed struggle with mental health in 2007 and had managed all her financial affairs and daily life until last year.
The Free Britney movement has been campaigning to get Britney, 38, to be freed from the conservatorship and be allowed to make her own legal and financial decisions.
