Who is Bob Mortimer married to?

Bob is married to wife Lisa Matthews after the pair tied the knot in 2015 after being together for 22 years.

Bob has previously revealed the couple got married 30 minutes before he had triple heart bypass surgery.

In 2016, Bob told Teesside Live: “I found out on the Thursday that I needed surgery, so I made a will on the Friday.

“I found out I couldn’t get married to Lisa because you have to give 21 days’ notice or something.

“My consultant said I was incredibly ill, so the registrar in London gave me permission to get married on the Monday.

“So I got married at 9.30am on the Monday, and went to hospital at 10am to have my operation.”

He also spoke of his wedding ceremony to The Guardian last year.

He said: “I got married at a registry office, at nine o’clock in the morning, and was crying during the ceremony.

“I had to be at hospital at 10.30 for my heart op, so we had time to go for a great big cafe fry-up, meant to be my last, although it hasn’t been, if truth be known.

“When I arrived at the hospital, the nurses presented me with a big chocolate cake as a wedding present.

“I thought it a little odd on a heart ward, but my old pipes were about to go, so there was no point being kind to them.”

Bob and Lisa have two sons called Harry and Tom.

He previously gave an insight into his family to Countryfile Magazine.

He told the magazine: “When my boys Harry and Tom were growing up, every Sunday my wife Lisa and I would take them to Dymchurch and New Romney on the south coast.

“We’d potter about on the beach and take them to the funfair.

“Things changed as they became teenagers with the draw of computers, theme parks and urban living in London.

“When I think of my children’s experiences and their friend’s experiences, the countryside is a bit of a mystery to them.

“My suspicion is that the countryside for a lot of kids only exists in Call of Duty games.”

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing continues next Sunday on BBC Two at 8pm.
