Lee Ryan has been banned for driving for six months after he was caught speeding twice within three months.

The 37 year old former Blue singer admitted to driving at 85mph in a Mercedes on the M1 motorway near Sheffield near 19 May last year.

He was then allegedly caught driving at 58mph in a 50mph in the same car while travelling through Eltham in south-east London on 14 August 2019 and failed to respond to police about who was driving the vehicle.

Ryan, who recently hit back at trolls who told him he gained weight in lockdown, was not represented at the hearing at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 29 August, which he did not attend.

It was heard the U Make Me Wanna hit singer was unaware that the hearing was due to take place until it was reported in the press the day before.

An email from Ryan’s manager to court officials said he intended to plead guilty to all three charges, after admitting to the Sheffield speeding offence through a solicitor last year.

It read: “Mr Ryan is aware he is facing a driving ban.”

The message also explained how Ryan was out of work due to the coronavirus crisis and is not scheduled for any appearances until May 2021.

Ryan, who already has nine points on his license, was then banned from driving for six months and handed a £120 fine.

He was also told to pay costs of £142. Chair of the bench Richard Standen told the court: “He has been given credit for pleading guilty.”

Former Celebrity Big Brother star Ryan, who recently claimed the devil controls governments in a bizarre rant, was previously banned from driving and handed a £3,325 fine after being arrested in 2014.
