Ant Middleton, 40, has had Piers Morgan’s, 56, back since he left Good Morning Britain, and the SAS soldier revealed he believes most people agree with his controversial views. Following the attack on the fairytale classic Snow White ride at Disneyland California where some claimed the kissing scene was “sexual assault”, Ant admitted he wants to follow suit and speak his mind against the “woke brigade”.
I sort of see myself as a predecessor, I must keep the word true and keep the word honest
In a recent interview with author and coach James Smith on his YouTube podcast, the pair referenced the reactions Piers receives for speaking out against things he believes in, with James saying that a “minority of people shouldn’t be allowed to have such impact” over certain situations.
The Channel 4 star, who announced his departure from SAS: Who Dares Wins earlier this year, shook his head in disbelief as he replied: “Don’t start me off!” he laughed as they discussed the complaints about the theme park ride.
“I can’t f***ing believe it mate.”
He went on: “Piers is a great friend of mine and I look at things like that and I think to myself, ‘Wow.’
“Piers is someone who leads. I sort of see myself as a predecessor, I must keep the word true and keep the word honest because people like Piers, he gets some head shots.”
Ant backed his buddy as he noted he constantly gets “baited” and “gets s**t” for what he says, adding: “But ultimately the majority agree with him.”
It comes after the former GMB presenter shared this views on the Disney controversy, posting in disbelief to Twitter.
“For the love of God… Can the woke brigade please just shut the f**k up?” he raged.
“You’re pathetic & exhausting, and nobody in the real world agrees with you. Thanks.”
As the theme park reopened for the first time since the Covid pandemic hit, bosses unveiled the revamped Snow White’s Enchanted Wish ride.
But it was immediately hit with backlash in a review by someone who said the park should have “re-imagined” the 1938 cartoon to remove the iconic “true love’s kiss” that awakened Snow White from the spell cast on her by the Evil Queen.
Piers also touched on the debate in his Daily Mail column, saying: “The ride now ends with the famous scene from the smash hit movie of the iconic ‘true love’s kiss’ between the Prince and Snow White as she sleeps.
“And it’s this addition to the ride that has sent the wokies out of their minds because they say the Prince didn’t get consent before kissing Snow White and is therefore a sickening sexual predator whose actions will encourage others to commit similar acts of depravity.”
Piers often speaks out about the impact of “cancel culture” and Ant went on to reveal to James his plans about leaving the UK for Australia.
He hit out at the UK for being too politically correct, saying: “I feel like I fit in here and that’s very strange being the person that I am.
“I don’t know whether the UK is just a bit pretentious for me, a bit too PC for me.”
“Where I can’t be myself, I have to suppress a part of me to fit in which I don’t like doing, which I won’t do as you’ve seen.”
Ant then added about Australia: “Here, I think you’ve got that balance right where you can be yourself and be honest.
“Don’t go out to offend people, make sure your actions aren’t malicious.
“I don’t go out to offend, I just go out to tell the truth.”
